• It is necessary to present a Portuguese passport valid for more than six months on the date of departure from Mexico
• Round-trip plane ticket (preferably printed)
• Portuguese citizens traveling to Mexico for tourism purposes do not need a visa
Mandatory taxes
• VISITAX: Tourist Tax payable by all foreign tourists (Approximately 10 EUR)
Payment can be made when booking the trip, or even during your stay as long as you do so before leaving the country. Payment can also be made through the website https://www.visitax.gob.mx/sitio/
To prove payment, tourists will have to present the digital document using a QR code that will be given to them by the system after making the payment.
• Environmental tax: All customers of accommodation services are subject to this payment and must pay the corresponding amount at the reception of the hotel in which they are staying, payment being made in national currency (Mexican peso) or by credit/debit card. The amounts are:
- From April to June it is $13 MXN per room per night
- From July to December it is $26 MXN per room per night
